Originally, two shutdowns were to be carried out directly one after the other after only a short preparation time. But COVID-19 changed everything, working in the usual rhythm was no longer possible. Suddenly, it was no longer the completion date that was the dominant issue, but rather borders within the EU, quarantine, social distance rules, face masks – everything to keep the number of infections under control and to be able to continue the work at all.
With the assembly engineering we prepared, the work packages we created and the close coordination with the customer as well as with the EPC contractor WorleyParsons, phase 1 of the project, including the shutdown of DeHy, was successfully completed within the planned time frame and budget. Despite the difficult conditions, the plant could be put back into operation on the planned date.
